Crossover Outreach

The focus of the Outreach Team is to be intentionally missional.   Team planning not only involves where to focus efforts but also how to get everyone involved.  Currently, we are a Faith Partner at KirkmanParkSchool.  We provide weekly volunteers for a backpack program where each Friday food is placed in a backpack and given to kids who otherwise would go hungry during the weekend.  We also help provide school  supplies and occasionally host an appreciation breakfast for the teachers.  Others at The Crossing even supply birthday parties for kids who might not otherwise have one.

Because being missional is a key spiritual disciple taught by The Crossing, we are also encouraged to show God’s love by doing simple tasks for those around us…like moving the trash to the street on pickup day, buying some groceries or mowing a neighbor’s lawn.  The secret is to meet a need solely for the opportunity to introduce someone to God through random acts of kindness.   Other serving opportunities exist at the Triad Ladder of Hope, He Cares Ministry, Home to Home Ministry or maybe helping a new church get started.

At the Crossing, we understand that serving is not just a good idea; it’s a key part of growing up to be like Jesus.
